MIKE SKINNER & MIKE SKINNER, London. 2002.
Limited edition 12x16" giclee print. Affordable gallery-quality art print form this 2002 photoshoot for 'Q Magazine'. A young and highly gifted Mike Skinner of The Streets, about to explode after the release of the brilliant debut album 'Original Pirate Material'. Buy a piece of musical history for your wall at an affordable price.
These are in a limited edition of 50, gallery quality prints, signed on the reverse and hand-editioned by photographer Steve Read, plus embossed stamped for additional authenticity.
Steve: "I thought it would be fun to have Mike serving himself, so had a composite made, which back in those days was like a scientific act, made only by the best retouchers. I didn't have the skill set then to do it myself so asked my editor / retoucher friend James, to do it for me. I'd forgotten about the subtle cocaine reference I dropped in to the kebabs menu, see if you can spot it. You can see form the Polaroids how the whole thing was set up, the other guy in them is the owner, and from the contact sheets, you can see the other options I had to work with"
Contact sheets and Polaroids shown here in the thumbnails, needless to say are not included and not for sale.
Each print is wrapped in acid proof paper and shipped in hard back manila envelopes for best protection.
